Would you like to make our community more supportive of children who have disabilities or challenges in school?

Starbridge is looking for family members of school-aged children with IEPs who would like to share their stories with others. We invite you to

Team Up for Positive Change!

Team Up for Positive Change is a program that connects families with college students, elementary and middle-school students, and community groups. People who hear personal stories about disabilities develop greater empathy and ability to include and support people who have disabilities.

What is involved with being part of the Team?

We start with a two-day workshop to polish your storytelling skills:

May 8, 2019 ~ 9:30am-2pm & May 15, 2019 ~ 9:30am-12pm

In the first session, all Team participants learn or update their presentation skills; a light lunch will be served. In the second session, Team participants share their stories with the group and receive feedback.

You must attend both Parts 1 and 2.

Graduates of Team Up for Positive Change may be asked to present their stories to students at local colleges, including St. John Fisher College or SUNY Brockport. Others may be asked to be part of our Building Bridges presentations at local elementary schools, or to join Starbridge at community outreach events and conferences.

Every voice counts and every story has an impact!

How do you get started?

Please contact Julie Buick by phone at (585) 224-7358 or by email at jbuick@starbridgeinc.org

Deadline to sign up for the 2019 program is May 3.
