Legal Decision-Making Models for Individuals and Families
Planning for the future: Who will make decisions?
Every person should have a voice in the decisions that impact their life. Depending on the person, the level of support and input they need from others can vary widely. New York State offers several legal decision-making models for issues from finances to health care to living arrangements. We encourage youth and adults with disabilities and their families to join us to learn more about:
- Supported decision-making
- Guardianship
- Limited power alternatives, such as representative payees, power of attorney, and health care proxies
Which option is right for you and your loved ones? Only you can decide.
