We want to be sure you are matched with the Service Coordinator who is the best fit for you, and will make every effort to give you an opportunity to choose your Service Coordinator as caseloads allow. When your primary Service Coordinator isn't available, another member of our team will be able to assist you.
Ursula Nicholson, MFT, Director of Individual Consumer Services
Ursula has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Penn State University and a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Rochester. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and families with various disabilities, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Ursula began working as a Service Coordinator with The Advocacy Center (now Starbridge) in 2007. While managing a full caseload, Ursula also assisted with training new staff and providing guidance to other service coordinators. In November 2015, she took on the role of Director of Individual Consumer Services for Starbridge and oversees the Service Coordination and the Work Incentives/Benefits Counseling programs.
Darcy Alden
Darcy grew up in Horseheads, NY, about two hours south of Rochester. She earned a degree in Human Services from Corning College. After college, Darcy lived in Atlanta, Georgia, for four years and worked at a psychological hospital for adolescents. She then moved to Rochester and started working as a Service Coordinator, which she has been doing for ten years. For Darcy, her favorite part of Service Coordination is the people: meeting new people, building relationships, and learning new things daily.
Anu Chathampally, LMSW
Originally from India, Anu grew up in Rochester and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Rochester Institute of Technology. Her career path has led her from software engineer to legal assistant to social justice work. After finishing her Master of Social Work degree at Roberts Wesleyan in May 2013, Anu joined the staff of The Advocacy Center (now Starbridge) in the fall of 2014. She has worked with a variety of vulnerable populations: runaway and homeless youth, minors victimized by sex-trafficking, low-income seniors, and people who have developmental disabilities.
Jeffrey Chopan
Jeff has been in the Human Services field for ten years, and has worked at a few nonprofit agencies serving people who have disabilities. He has a degree in Human Services from Monroe Community College. In his personal time, Jeff plays golf and ice hockey, and coaches an ice hockey team for people who have disabilities.
Victoria Decker, LMSW
Victoria grew up near Cooperstown, NY. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, and her Master of Social Work degree at Roberts Wesleyan College. She joined The Advocacy Center’s (now Starbridge) Service Coordination team in August 2011. Victoria has a passion for empowering others and promoting independence using person-centered and solution-focused approaches. She has experience working in the field of disabilities and with individuals with dual diagnoses, specifically mental health and substance abuse. Victoria also currently works as a social worker in the emergency department at University of Rochester Medical Center.
Maria Graves
Maria has been a Service Coordinator for over eight years and has worked at both the ARC of Monroe and LDA Life and Learning Services (now Starbridge). Maria has a Bachelor’s Degree in in Criminal Justice and she is a retired police officer with 20 years of law enforcement experience. Maria is bilingual and currently works with many Spanish-speaking families. She enjoys helping individuals of all ages and she has helped several children transition from school into the adult world.
Stephanie Lander
Stephanie grew up in Rochester and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology at Canisius College. She joined the Starbridge Service Coordination team in December of 2015 after three years of experience at the Arc of Monroe County. For many years, she served as a summer camp counselor. Stephanie is passionate about serving and connecting with the community, helping people build positive relationships, and sharing her love for the outdoors.
Susan Oliver
Susan has 22 years of experience in the field, working in residential, day programs and service coordination. She is happily married, has a teenaged son, and lives in Penfield. The Adirondacks is Susan's second home - she and her family go several times throughout the year to hike and camp!
Diane Porcelli, LMSW
Diane began working as a Service Coordinator at The Advocacy Center (now Starbridge) in 2006. She has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for over 15 years as a social worker, program director, and trainer. Diane has also worked extensively in the field of children and family services, therapeutic foster care, and disaster mental health, providing both direct service and training. Diane's current position includes helping oversee any student interns from local colleges. Additionally, she has conducted workshops for individuals, families, service coordinators, caseworkers, and service providers. Diane brings many years of networking contacts and vast experience with populations of all ages, strengths and needs.
Badiah Wilson
Badiah grew up in the Rochester area. Her early experiences working in home healthcare led her to become an in-home child care provider for children with disabilities, and ultimately to her decision to pursue a degree in the human services field. In February of 2014, Badiah graduated from SUNY Empire State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Community and Human Services. Badiah joined the staff of The Advocacy Center (now Starbridge) in spring of 2014. She is currently in graduate school at University of Buffalo, working to earn a Masters in Social Work. Badiah enjoys being community-based and assisting people with overcoming barriers to achieve positive outcomes.
