Team Up for Positive Change
Attention: Families of children in K-6th grade who have an IEP
Have you wished more teachers understood the experiences of students with disabilities and their families? You can be part of educating the next generation of teachers!
Team Up for Positive Change connects families of elementary school students with college students from St. John Fisher. Here’s how the program works:
Join us for one of these online sessions to develop a brief, 10-15 minute presentation telling your family’s story
- July 26th ~ 12:00 noon to 1:30pm
- July 28th ~ 12:00 noon to 1:30pm
After this session, we connect you with a college student. You share your story and they will then interview you to find out more about a specific area they can research. Students spend the semester researching their topic. At the end of the semester, the student will present their research back to you.
Year after year, participants tell us that this program makes a big difference in increasing their understanding, empathy, and readiness to include all students in their classrooms.
